It is a few inches long, enough to make him look scruffy when he’s working and doesn’t bother to keep it out of his face. He’s a little short for a guy, around 5’8” but he doesn’t mind the short stature. Lanky, typically wearing a t shirt and jeans with sandals, all of it with dirt and grass stains from work. Personality: Oscar prefers to watch people from a distance, but he does enjoy being around people he knows in small groups. He is submissive to the point of giving in to even what strangers want him to do, even if it hurts him. For this reason he seems very friendly. When he says he’ll do something for someone, he follows through. He might be scared, but he will do what needs done for other people. Perceptive, and notices other people’s feelings easily. He is a follower through and through. Once you gain his trust, he will trust you forever. When he is focused on something, he isn’t so terrified of loud sounds and people around. Without a focus, he grows increasingly panicked and unnerved. Sexuality: Bisexual, but trying to deny his homosexual tendencies History: Oscar was born in Scarlet Oak, with a fraternal twin who died shortly after birth. This has affected him greatly, and many of his family members wonder if he wouldn’t be so shy if he had his twin still. He grew up a quiet boy with two sisters who were much more outgoing than he was, and he honestly didn’t mind staying in their shadow. His teachers suspected him of having ADHD, but his parents knew that it was just because he was a weredeer, and they were naturally skittish and learned how to keep track of a lot of things at once. Most learned how to control this and hone it, but Oscar never could. He is almost constantly in touch with his weredeer senses, and has been since he was born. He was okay in school if he was by himself or with a group of friends, but the lunchroom was absolute torture for him. So many people, all noisy, and all unpredictable. Oscar ended up in special education classes because he couldn’t concentrate in larger classes, but he excelled at keeping the plants at the school greenhouse alive. Oscar had a bad run in with a hunter while he was in middle school. This sparked his fear of hunters beyond a reasonable fear, turning it into a phobia. He was shot in the thigh and chest, his family managing to drag him away and take him to a family friend they knew could be trusted. This left him a year behind in school trying to heal from the physical and mental wounds the incident had left him with. Even after this, for years he was so spooked by loud sounds he had to be kept completely away from the other children in school to learn anything. He dropped out in his junior year of high school, taking odd jobs of prettying up other people’s yards. Oscar made enough to get by on that, and moved out into his own tiny apartment. That was when he met Logan. He moved in with Logan, to save on rent, and for another reason he tried to deny. Oscar was attracted to Logan, and tries to ignore this attraction whenever possible. It is very important that he carry on his family line, but it is more important in Oscar’s mind than it really is to his herd. In the last six months he has gained a job with the city as the city gardener and landscaper, which is helping him to be around people. Since the Light of May: Oscar is scared out of his mind. He has been fine so far, travelling out to the outskirts of town to shift, but now he feels like everyone knows who he is. And he fears that they are hunting him down. Special Skills/Abilities: Unless completely relaxed or preoccupied, Oscar is always in touch with his weredeer senses. He has heightened sense of smell and hearing, but he is farsighted. He can sense when a person is aggressive, and will hightail it out of there. The only people he trusts when they are aggressive are Logan and his herd. Personal Weaknesses: Skittish fearful, phobia of hunters, guns, and most weapons in general. Strong bad smells gross him out, almost to the point of running away, and loud noises scare the crap out of him. He will do almost anything to avoid loud places. Oscar is okay with minimal traffic, but rush hour is a place he can’t do. Submissive. He’ll do anything for the people he trusts, even if it means harm for himself. With strangers, it is easy for them to convince him to do what they want.
